Our Work & Impact

building community through knowledge

Our mission is to empower Asian Americans, build empathy for multiple generations of immigrant communities, and foster solidarity to address hate and intolerance by teaching AAPI history.

Our work is multi-pronged. We design and implement ground-breaking community empowerment programs for multiple generations of AAPI families to learn history, develop a positive racial identity, and bridge intergenerational chasms.  We develop anti-racist curricula and other educational resources focused on AAPI and immigrant histories for schools and communities. Finally, we provide professional development and DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) support for schools, institutions, and companies committed to centering racial equity in their work.

our impact

A lightbulb moment for my husband [was] that he has unprocessed racial trauma that has lasting impacts on his ability to engage in conversation about race.
--AAPI parent
This class was incredibly different in the best ways. It is so important to be able to learn about this history.
--Letter from our students
They put the problem in real words. Being the model minority, there is a high price we pay, many unnoticed: family relations, mental health problems under the pressure to perform.
